Back to School Layout

I just finished putting a layout together of my son on his first day of preschool. The colors on the September kit were just prefect for the look I was hoping for. The brown Alphabet Gaffer Tape from the July kit was a fun addition to the page. Combining your kits is a great way to get additional mileage out of your products.

Family Fun Facts Album

This mini album was just completed with supplies from the September kit including the circle accordian album, circle tin and patterned papers. These albums are fun to display on bookshelves or a little basket on an endtable (thanks for the basket idea Kristan!)

The theme I did for this album was "Fun Facts About Our Family." Each page features a different bit of information about everyone in our family.

I used a thin layer of modge podge on the tin album surface and then attached the paper to the tin. Once it dried, I did two more coats of modge podge to seal the paper and give it a little glossed look.

This album comes with the tin and the 8-page circle accordian album. The black paper really makes the colors of the paper in the kit pop!

Growing Up

Our two oldest kids started school this week. For our daughter this it was a first for being away from home all day. For our son this is his first time to go to school. Here are a couple of pictures of the kids on their first day.

Going to Preschool

Wow, I can't believe how quickly times is going. Makes me a little sad to see them growing so quickly, but I am so proud of the wonderful people they are becoming.

I am thinking that I will take a picture of my kids in the same place on the last day of school and then do a layout documenting how much they have learned and grown during the school year.

September Sneak Preview

Can you believe that September is already next month? I can't believe it is almost here. I've been having so mich fun with our September kit (I know that I say this about every kit, but it really is true!) and I wanted to give you a little preview of what is coming up next month.

Here are a couple of layouts I've completed with the September kit.





We are featuring paper from Basic Grey and Imagination Project. Embellishments will be from 7 Gypsies, Bazzill, Die Cuts with a View, Heidi Swapp and American Crafts. This is a very exciting line up of products from several of our favorite scrapbooking companies.

Keeping it Simple

I was just working with the August kit and created this layout.



It was fun to really keep the layout simple and focus on the photos. I love using white space because of the visual impact.
