Card Fun w/the Sept. Kit

I was running short on thank you cards and so yesterday I decided to use up the scraps from my September kit and put a few cards together.

I found that my favorite thing to use was the Sassafras Die Cut Sheet from the Embellishment add-on. It really helped the cards come together so quickly!

Here are a few of my favorites...

Can I "Quote" you?

Whenever I"m stuck on a title for a layout, I search for quotes. There is something about the perfect quote that can send your emotions racing...remembering what happened when you took the picture and how you felt.

I was excited when Board Member--blueshobby--started a thread on the boards about quotes.

Here are a few quotes from the thread:

"Creativity take courage." - Henri Matisse

Youer than You by Dr. Seuss
Today you are you. That is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you!

You will find as you look back upon your life, that the moments when you have really lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. - unknown

If you have a favorite quote, please share :)

THANKS!

October Project Kit - Unique U

It has been so much fun putting this kit together and I'm excited to finally be able to share it with you.

It is called "Unique U" and it will help you preserve some favorite photos of someone special.

This kit includes a sturdy board book so that it can stand up to little hands looking through it.

We just love the gorgeous double-sided Scenic Route paper and all of the fun little embellishments you will get to play with in this kit.

It is now up in our October Add-ons section and is ready to ship with your October Kit. (Of course, you can order it separately too!)

Enjoy!

Cool Halloween Kit Project

Thanks to Diana Waite, one of our fabulous subscribers and former guest designer, for sharing this fun project she just put together with the Halloween Kit. She used Cosmo Cricket Lacing Cards for the base of the project and them made this adorable altered sign. Diana used her Cricut to cut the letters.

Thanks for sharing Diana! Love it!

September Guest Designer: Janet Stevens

A big welcome to our September guest designer, Janet Stevens! I love what she did with the kit and I know you will too.

Here is a little bit of info on Janet:

"My name is Janet Stevens, and I am excited to be able to share my work on Scrapbook Circle! I live in Baltimore with my husband of ten years and three children—ages 7, 5, and 3. Life is crazy and busy, but I try to scrapbook whenever I get the chance! I really have gotten into altered projects lately—I love to have that completed project in my hands. And then it usually becomes a gift to share with someone else! I tend to be very simple and clean in my style. And despite several attempts to do so, I just can't bring myself to journal in my own handwriting. (Probably the clean and simple in me—I want it to look just so!) I also still do 8-1/2x11 pages, but I just purchased my first 12x12 album, so I am slowly (and eventually) making the switch. I really enjoyed the warm, rich, fall colors in the September kit—had so much fun putting it all together! Thanks for this opportunity! Enjoy!"

Here are a few of the things she did with the September kit. Check out the gallery for more great ideas.

Thanks for sharing your talent with us this month Janet!

Fun with the Clothespin!!

Hi Everyone!
Please bare with me, this is my very first time...EVER...that I've posted on a blog! heehee!
The clothespin was so much fun to alter. It's a great way to show off artwork or mini-layouts like the one I did. I want to get a few more for the kids. They would love to see their "works of art" on a fancy clothespin!

The first thing I did was cut all the pieces of Patterned Paper. I'm a stickler with measurements and I included them on this photo. Even if it doesn't fit exactly, inking the edges works great to hide any flaws ;)
My measurements are: Top--1 1/4 x 1 3/8". Bottom--1 1/4 x 3 1/8".

You will need 2 sets of top and bottom for the front and back. After cutting the pieces, I inked all the edges. I used KI Gloo to adhere the pieces. Modge Podge would work great, too.

To finish it off, I tied the ric rac to the pin and glued some felt pieces for simple accents. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with. Post your finished pin and send a link in the comments. I'll draw a RAK from the names! Deadline will be Sept 30 :) THANKS!!

Our new DT Members!

We are very excited to announce our 2 new design team members! This was NOT an easy decision because we had so many talented scrapbookers apply. They will officially begin in October, although Emelyn will be doing some designs with our September kit since she had already accepted our guest designer position for September before this design team call.

Help us welcome...

Emelyn Magpoc

Here are a couple of Emelyn's layouts. We love how she uses patterned paper in such beautiful and create ways!

Nicole Eshelman

Here are a couple of Nicole's layouts. Love her design style and use of white space!

Welcome to Scrapbook Circle ladies! We can't wait to see what you do with our kits.

I met Lisa Bearnson!!!

Hey fellow scrappers! I just returned from a 5 day scrapbook retreat with some friends and as part of it, we met Lisa Bearnson. (She was a friend of a friend). She is super nice and very down-to-earth. She even went out to lunch with us and took pictures and signed the free books she gave us! Very generous. Since my husband doesn't even care that I met her, I had to share this with people who do care! YOU! Here is a picture of meeting her. She even mentioned us in her blog (www.lisabearnson.com) I'm the Jennie she mentions in the first paragraph of her Labor Day weekend. I had a BLAST scrap booking with all the September kit and ended up using several scraps from the last few months. Check out the new additions to the idea gallery!
