Using Corkboard

I was recently browsing at IKEA and came across some cork board place mats. I immediately knew that I wanted to incorporate some cork into a layout.

Here is what I came up with:

The cord board is the base of the layout and then paper, photos and embellishments were layers on top.

I used things from both the March and May kits. The brown alphas are a mix from a few older kits.

I just love the texture the cork added to the layout!

August Project kit

This kit was so much fun to work with! I know I say that for every project kit, but I mean it, this cute little album is October Afternoon, papers are Fancy Pants & Scenic Route, for the full list of supplies go HERE:I chose to make this a back to school album, but you could really make this into any theme you wanted. For my album I plan to have pictures of the first bus ride, first day, and supplies. For the journaling I will fill the album with questions, and thoughts of both the kids and I. For example, in the front and back covers I am going to write down my feelings on going back to school and the school year ending.

My Travel Journal is Ready to Travel!

All of the pages of my Travel Journal Album are covered in beautiful paper and embellishments (with space left for photos and journaling) and it's ready to go.

Notice how the clear page adds interest and layering!

I love, love, love(!) this Tinkering Ink Peek-a-Boo album! It really is the perfect size to carry in my travel bag and all of the clear pages and windows make layering things so fun and easy.

I'm going to order 2X2 photos from ScrapbookPictures after the trip. I love the small size because I will be able to fit A LOT of pictures into this album.

Are you really into journaling? You could easily add more journaling pages by cutting to size and punching patterned paper/cardstock and adding the pages to the rings! (You will have extra patterned paper in your kit. We include more that enough to cover the album.)

Of course, I will want to do full page layouts of favorite photos after returning home, but this album will capture the entire trip through collaging small photos and journaling.

We have just a few Travel Journal kits left!

Using up Cosmo Cricket Blackboard letters

Like Lisa I used the Scenic Route Liberty line to make this cute sign. I cut my stars using my cricut set at 4 1/2". I traced my stars onto chipboard, then hand cut them out. I painted the backs distressed the sides, and doodled the edges. The best part was that the Cosmo Cricket letters from the April kit fit PERFECTLY!! Enjoy!

The Full Travel Journal Kit...

We now have the full Travel Journal kit photo up for you to enjoy.

We really love how this kit came together with the unique album, beautiful (double-sided) papers and cool embellishments.

The album alone is something to be excited about. The pages alternate between chipboard and clear acrylic with windows in the chipboard which lead to so many cool layering possibilities. (This album alone retails for $15!)

We also love the brown glitter alpha. It's just the perfect size for this album and it just the the right amount of shimmer to the project.

The Jenni Bowlin stickers and Making Memories stickers will add the perfect (and fast!) touch to your finished album along with the flowers and scalloped tag.

Watch for more samples coming soon! You can check here in case you missed the samples from last week.
