"Simply Delightful" and so much fun...
Hi to all! My name is Stacy Milford and I am one of the new members of the Design Team here at Scrapbook Circle! I am so thrilled to be designing for Scrapbook Circle...Lisa, your kits are AMAZING!
The layout I am sharing today is something that I have wanted to do for both of my kids for awhile now...but when I saw the patterned papers included in the May kit, I just knew they would be perfect!
The layout is inspired by a Pink Sketch (gotta love sketches!!!) and features my oldest son, Jeremy. He turned 16 in January and I wanted to create a layout that documented 16 random things about him...right now. I recently discovered FREE photo editing/managing software called Picasa 3. It allowed me to do some fun b&w editing on the photo & I also added the title right to the photo before printing. So much fun!
Because I think we are all trying to find ways to make our supplies go farther, I thought I would share with you what I did when I saw the Fancy Pants "Delight" Spice paper. Instead of cutting a piece from the corner like I usually do, I took my Exacto knife & cut a chunk right out of the middle...hopefully I will be able to use the 12x12 pp for the base of another layout by just covering up the middle with photos, etc.
And here's my completed layout:
I love the mix of patterned papers included in the May kit...along with the great Fancy Pants Rubons...they practically slide onto the paper! On this layout, I used scraps of the pp's and journaling die cut. From my stash came the clear buttons, embroidery thread and American Crafts MiniMarks number rubons. & lately I CANNOT do a layout without stitching! Here I have used the zig zag machine stitch to add some interest & texture...& I stitched right across the photo for fun!
Thanks for stopping by! Take care!
