July Mini Album Idea

You & me, and me & you! This song by the Turtles became the theme for this fun little album. When I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it and the fun papers from July's kit! I recently completed Stacy Julian's Library of Memories class at Big Picture Scrapbooking (LOVE IT!) so I had a file of great photos of Nathan, my husband and I. The lyrics from this song kept running through my mind and they said exactly what I wanted to convey to my husband - so happy together!


This album came together in about two to three hours. I cropped each picture and rounded the corners. I glued paper scraps to each page, punched the holes for the binding and inked the edges. With the lyrics in hand, I started playing with picture placement and journaling. The journaling wasn't showing up as well as I wanted it to so Lisa suggested using paint splotches to highlight the song. It worked GREAT!

The cover came together really well, using the add-on kit alphabet
, the American Craft thickers from the kit and the Heidi Swapp Family Corner stamp. I used just the word "together" from the stamp and it worked wonderfully! Adding ribbon and a little more ink (I think I'm addicted) really finished it.
