A twist on journaling...

Do you ever feel like you get into a rut with the journaling on your layouts? I believe that a layout isn't complete without journaling, but sometimes find myself not quite knowing what to say. I also feel that it is important to journal in your own handwriting...for me, it just feels more personal.

A few ways to "spice" up your journaling:

1) Mix up your own handwriting with stamps or alpha stickers (love using a date stamp & the Making Memories tiny alpha for this!)

2) I almost always write my journaling in the "1st person". Try a different approach; in the layout below the journaling is written as if our kitty wrote it :o)

3) Print your journaling from the computer or use a typewriter, just have some fun!

The layout I am sharing today features our kitty, KitKat. I created the layout using a fabulous PageMap...love those sketches and the November kit, Radiant Harvest.

GIRL kitty:

and a close up of the Crate Paper Season Collection birdie rubon and the wonderful Jillibean Soup Corrugated Kraft alphas...

Here's are a few closeups of the journaling on my layout. For fun, I decided to write the journaling as if KitKat was sending our family a MEMO and mixed my own handwriting, date stamp & tiny alpha stickers:

Love all of the journaling spots & stickers included in the November kit!

Another closeup showing off the adorable Crate Paper Season Collection rubons and border stickers & the Basic Grey Opalines-Half Pearls in blue...just gorgeous!

So, give your journaling a twist...I think it will surprise you what you can come up with!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

I have trouble with this too. I'm lucky if I can come up with a title and a two sentence journal tag. Thanks for the tips to try.

Thanks for the great tips. I agree a page isn't done with out journaling but I feel like I am saying the same thing over and over again. Cannot wait to apply some of these tips. Thanks!
