Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

Just popping in today to wish everyone a wonderful day, spent with the ones you love. Enjoy this special time of year! and remember the reason for the season.

Here's a layout I created using the December kit "Reindeer Games":

This layout documents the "tradition" of getting new PJ's for Christmas each year...and yes, my boys got new PJ's again this year too!

The Crate Paper line of goodies in this kit is amazing...especially the TONS of chipboard included!

Before I sign off, just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that has supported me through my term on the design team here at Scrapbook Circle...you are all wonderful! Thanks AGAIN to Lisa for giving me the opportunity! & looking forward to seeing what the new team creates for 2010!!!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

A Merry Christmas to All!

And if you don't celebrate Christmas, I hope you enjoy the holidays!

You'll forgive me if this isn't a "crafty" blog post. Things have been so busy around here, I haven't had time to create something new for today.

I thought I'd give you my best wishes for the holidays, some fun times and silly moments, just like my kids were having yesterday during our Christmas photo shoot:

I'll see you next week for my final post here on the Scrapbook Circle blog!

tip of the day.....

Inspired by my creative buddy and fellow design team member Melanie I made this last minute gift for a friend:
It went together VERY quickly. I used my lovely stickles, pictures don't do it justice how it shines. The frame I bought at Walmart, and the crackle paint at Michaels with my coupon. I sprayed it with some glimmer mist and tied some tulle and miniature decorations to finish it off. Easy!

A Little January Peek

Hopefully most of you are still busy creating with the December kit, but I thought you would want a little look at what is coming your way in our upcoming January kit.
I know you will be love what our new design team ladies are doing with the kit. Can't wait to share more with you!

Documenting your Christmas Story

As Christmas draws nearer, take a moment out of your busy schedule, put aside your TO DO lists, and just think about what you want to document this Christmas. Maybe you have missed photo opportunities in the past. Are there details that you want to remember? Take a few minutes today to write yourself a quick list of MUST HAVE photos for the upcoming Christmas holiday!

A few things that I want to capture in photographs this Christmas:

*Christmas cookies (if I ever actually get them made!)

*Close up photos of my favorite decorations/ornaments (check! This is done!)

*My boys with their grandparents (how do I always miss this???)

You get the idea. I'd love to hear what is on your list of MUST HAVE Christmas photos!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Not only for Christmas

This month's kit is totally fabulous and versatile, even though it is full of Christmas embellishments it can still be used for non-Christmas themed projects. By adding a neutral ribbon I was able to create a thank you card. The lace paper was the perfect touch for this thank you card! I hope you are finding some scrappy time during this busy season!

Easy decorating for the holidays!

I used an 8x8 canvas (I got it at the dollar store!) and covered it with Crate Papers using Terrifically Tacky Tape to make sure it stayed put. Add a few Crate chipboard embellishments and those awesome Pink Paislee glitter letters and voila! I absolutely love how this turned out, it's my favourite decoration in the house!

And why did I call it "Happy Season"? I always tell my husband I love this time of year because everyone seems happy. So I thought it was fitting! :)

Have a great week everyone!

tip of the day.....

I know I've said this probably every week BUT, I LOVE this December kit! I loved it so much I didn't have a scrap of paper left to do this project, I had to use something from my stash. I did however have some chipboard and flare buttons to add:
Here are some closeups:
These are for two of my kids' teachers. You can find these clear paint cans at Michaels *remember to use your coupon* they run around $2.99. You can fill it with anything you like, I happened to LOVE bob's candy. :)

another use for those chipboards!

Hi all! I wrapped about 30 presents yesterday, while listening to some fun new Christmas music. I love it! On several of my presents, I accented them with some of the leftover chipboard accents that come in the December kit. Here is just one example! I think it just adds a little something and makes that present stand out!

So, there is just another quick idea for using all those fun chipboards!

Enjoy!

Christmas Tags...& Cards!

Are you loving the December kit "Reindeer Games" as much as we are?

For some quick and easy Christmas tags, I started with Stampin' Up pre-cut tags. For the first tag, I added leftover patterned paper scraps and topped with a glitter chipboard package by American Crafts. So easy! I didn't have any ribbon in my stash that I liked with this tag, so I just used a thin strip of patterned paper & attached with a Crate Paper brad.

For the second tag, I layered some patterend paper, added a Basic Grey rubon, an American Crafts Flair button (LOVE these!!!) and some ribbon. Again, so easy!

To create a quick card, just adhere the tag to a kraft card base. Stamp a sentiment. You're done!

Have a great weekend! Do something scrappy :o)

Congrats to Our New Design Team Members

First of all I must say that we have absolutely loved having Claude, Stacy and Melanie on our design team for the past many months. They are so talented and we love the inspiration they constantly have given. We are grateful that they will continue to inspire us this month!

Starting January 1, we will have three new very talented ladies joining us. I must say that the decision was VERY difficult. We received work from so many talented ladies. Hours were spent to carefully read and look at everything that was submitted.

A huge thank you to everyone who shared their work with us!

Here's a look at who will be joining our team along with a couple of their favorite layouts.

Aymee Gandy
Jillian DeilingDiana Fisher

We are looking forward to continuing to inspire and encourage your creativity!

Journaling spots

I am a fan of journaling spots. Big fan! I have tons of them, love the look of them. I am a big journaler (if that's even a word!) and that's where my love for them started. But I have discovered over the years that journaling spots don't have to be used to journal. Sometimes, you want to use them just because they are pretty!

It was the case with this Elle's Studio journaling block. I decided to use it as I would have any other piece of paper. The words already printed on it (Dear Santa) actually inspired my title.

Have fun with your journaling spots, even if you have nothing to say! :)

tip of the day.....

Have I told you how much I LOVE this December kit?!! I used it to complete my December Daily. What I want to share today is the FANTASTIC Pink Paislee letters included. I took the asterisk (who uses those?--they're always my leftovers....) And I made a tree, look:
I'm challenging you to think outside the box and use up your letters!

Fun and Easy mats

For this very simply layout, I created a colorful mat by ripping a rectangle of double sided paper. Then, I turned over 1/2 of it to showcase both sides. Just to add a little more oomph!, I laced one of the sides with some of the fancy die cut paper and topped it off with a title and some flair from the wonderful alphabet. This kit has SO much to offer. I hope you are all enjoying yours.

Alter that chipboard!

The December Kit here at Scrapbook Circle, Reindeer Games, is packed full of scrappy goodies from the Crate Paper North Pole Collection and it is adorable! My favorite embellishment in the kit are the Chipboard Accents by Crate Paper...there are tons of them & they are all so cute & fun!

The Chipboard Accents can be used just as they are, but I decided to play a little bit and here's what I came up with:

LOVE peace JOY:

I featured this card on my blog during the Scrapbook Circle Blog Hop on Dec. 1st, but thought I would share it here too...in case any of you blog readers missed it :o)

I was going for a distressed and casual look, so I decided to sand the edges of the chipboard circles just a little bit. Here's a closeup:

Doesnt' that look warm & cozy? Like your favorite blue jeans or sweatshirt? Love the "worn" look!

So, go play with your chipboard! Use it as is, or alter it a bit! Sand it. Paint it. Ink it. Stickle it. Just have fun!

Thanks for stopping by! Take care!

Chipboard Galore!!!

I loved the Crate Paper chipboard elements that were part of the December kit. I decided to make good use of them on the lo below. I think one can never have too many chipboard pieces on a lo, don't you think?

Make sure to show us how you used these fabulous chipboard pieces!

Here's your first look at the December kit from Jennie:
I had so much fun with the December kit! On this layout, instead of using the parentheses provided in the alphabet as parentheses, I used them as stems for my "ornaments".I like the way it made the "love, peace and joy" really pop! Hope you LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your december kit. I can't wait to see all your creations on the community site!

Now you can head on over to Claude's blog and continue the blog hop fun!
