Making Your Layout Cohesive

When I was working on this layout, I really struggled. There were so many aspects -- the photos, the money, the ticket stub, an ice cream spoon, and journaling cards that I all wanted to be a part of it. It was really busy looking and didn't feel like it went together.

So, I decided to group everything, layering most of it, and then outline it twice around everything. I took my zig marker and went around everything once with the thick side. Then, after that I went around it again with the thin side.

I ended up really liking the way it all looks cohesive. So, the next time you are struggling with making your layout look cohesive, grab a pen and outline it all a time or two!
