a flower idea with dear lizzy fabric paper

Want to make your own fabric twirly flower that completely coordinates with the Dear Lizzy line from American Crafts? Did you get this fabric paper in your Scrapbook Circle April kit and say to yourself, "Huh? What do I do with this besides just stick it down?"

If you are like me, you see something as it is, and then you try to tear it apart and do something else with it. That's what I did with the Dear Lizzy fabric paper. It essentially is in 3 pieces. The fabric, the adhesive that is supposed to be attached to the fabric, and the backing that sticks to the adhesive. Go ahead... choose a strip or two and tear the adhesive from the fabric so all you have is the pretty, lightweight fabric.

Next, decide which color will be the inside portion of your flower. Thread a needle with thread or floss and begin to run your needle up and down all along what will be the inside edge of your flower.

Once your up-and-down threading is done, your flower should look like this. Choose a matching button and using the same needle and thread, add the button to the flower. It will hide the inside edge and make a nice touch.

And there you go! A fabric twirly flower that matches the papers from the April kit effortlessly! Go ahead, make a few... we'd love to see them. Share them in the gallery section of the community!!
